An Audi light-up emblem stands among the most eye-catching mods you can add to any Audi, and owners can complete the whole install themselves with basic tools. Unlike vinyl wraps or suspension upgrades, this LED emblem needs no workshop gear, dealer software coding or professional labour. This Audi Light Up Emblem Installation Guide tutorial walks you through removing the stock badge all the way to wiring the new light unit.
What Is an Audi Light-Up Emblem?
This glowing swap-out part replaces your original chrome grille logo with an LED-powered counterpart. Once wired to your daytime running lights or headlight circuit, the four rings shine solid white (or alternative hues based on your chosen variant). Dynamic versions feature a light animation during locking and unlocking, and stay lit steadily as you drive. Its chrome outer shell matches the factory badge’s dimensions and surface finish down to the smallest detail.
Before You Start — Important Check
Double-check if adaptive cruise control radar sits behind your grille emblem. Vehicles such as 2017+ A6, A7, A8 and Q7 equipped with ACC commonly have this sensor placement. Lit emblems stick over the original badge using 3M double-sided tape; the extra layered material can disrupt radar calibration if the sensor sits directly underneath. If you’re unsure about your car’s configuration, review your spec sheet or reach out to our team before placing an order.

Audi Light Up Emblem Installation Guide-Step by Step
Step 1 — Remove the Factory Grille Badge
The OEM Audi grille logo is fastened by locking clips and 3M adhesive. Lift the bonnet and reach behind the grille, locate the mounting clasps, squeeze the release tabs and push the badge outwards. A few models rely purely on glue; slide dental floss or thin fishing thread behind the badge and saw back and forth to cut through adhesive without scuffing grille paint.
Wipe the mounting base thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and wait for full drying before mounting the new illuminated emblem.
Step 2 Remove the Original Clips
The OEM badge was fixed by those 8 clips , use the cutter to remove all of them carefully.
Step 3 — Mount the Emblem
Put the included 3M adhesive tape on the rear side of the LED emblem. Align the badge neatly on the cleaned grille surface, center and level it visually before pressing it down firmly. Keep pressing for thirty seconds to get initial adhesion. To secure the mount, wait a full 24 hours before fast driving so the adhesive can fully harden.
Step 4 — Route the Wiring
Two power cables, positive and negative, stretch out from the rear of the LED badge. Thread them through the crevice between grille and front bumper into the engine compartment. Most Audis come with factory wiring troughs along the bumper inner edge; run the cables next to original harnesses and fasten firmly with zip ties.
Step 5 — Connect to the Power Circuit
You may draw power from either headlight wiring or DRL wiring. Tap headlight positive lead to light the badge only after dark, or tap DRL positive lead for constant glow during daytime operation. T-tap splices enable fast connection, while soldering offers a more stable permanent link. Secure the negative wire to any bare metal ground point under the bonnet.
This wiring setup requires no dealer coding. The emblem draws low power equal to a standard LED lamp and won’t trigger fault notifications on any modern Audi electronic systems.
Step 6 — Test
Turn on your headlights or start the engine to turn on the DRLs. The emblem should glow evenly without dark patches. Dynamic styles have animated light sequences; lock and then unlock your car to watch the light animation run.
