LED emblems are not compatible with Audi models where the adaptive cruise control radar sensor is positioned directly behind the grille badge. This is common on A6, A7, A8, and Q7 models from 2017 onwards equipped with the ACC package. If your Audi has a front radar sensor behind the emblem, fitting an LED badge over it may reduce detection range or trigger warning lights. The two-wire harness connects to the 12V headlight or DRL circuit in the engine bay — no VCDS, no OBD adapter, no ECU changes, and no dealer visit are required at any point. The emblem powers on and off automatically with the vehicle’s ignition or daytime running light circuit. If you want the emblem to illuminate only at night, wire it to the headlights. If you want it active during daylight driving, wire it to the DRL circuit.

Most installations take 30 to 60 minutes. Removing the factory badge using dental floss or fishing line behind the emblem takes 5 to 10 minutes. Routing the two wires through the front bumper trim to the engine bay is the main task and typically requires removing one or two sections of the bumper inner liner. The sealed housing design prevents moisture ingress under all normal driving and washing conditions, including rain, road spray, and hand or automatic car washing at normal pressure distances.

The emblem attaches using pre-applied 3M automotive-grade double-sided adhesive tape on the rear of the badge. Before fitting, clean the grille mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely. Press the emblem firmly into position and hold for 30 seconds. For best adhesion, allow 24 hours before driving at motorway speed or washing the car. The chrome-plated front surface is manufactured to match the original OEM badge size and finish exactly, with no visible white border or protruding edge.
